The company is also a part of the Open handset alliance working towards improvisation in the Android mobile device platform. HTC was ranked as the second best performing tech company in Asia in the year 2007 by Business Week.
HTC that initially entered into manufacturing of smartphones based on Microsoft Window mobile software turned its focus towards devices with Android OS as its derivative.
