Canada-based Research In Motion, makers of BlackBerry smartphones and tablets, have announced recently through one of the social networking sites, that it would be removing the feature of side load apps on the PlayBook through updates. This decision from Canadian manufacturer has evoked some hostility among PlayBook users, but RIM supports its decision on blocking side load applications, the Canadian manufacturer suggests that by blocking this feature, it would be able to curtail the application piracy on the platform as the application can be downloaded through an illegitimate website, which could hamper the data and other applications present in the device. In some instances some applications do not sync with the device and owners of the device feel that there is some problem with the device and blame the company for giving them a faulty device. RIM wants to overcome all this blaming game by removing the side load app feature.

Vodafone, the mobile service provider is believed to offer its second Android smartphone - Vodafone Smart as an entry-level phone in India. However, the service provider has not yet made it official yet, but the launch is expected to take place during next week. One online shopping store is already accepting the bookings for the Vodafone mobile at Vodafone Smart price in India at Rs 6,695. The Vodafone has to yet release its first Android enabled smartphone Webbox nationwide, which is only offered in Haryana as of now.

LG S365 is a new mobile that LG is going to launch soon in India. LG S365 is a bar phone with GSM+GSM dual sim feature. The phone has a display screen of 2.4 mm TFT display screen. The model comes with a camera of 2.0 mega pixels with digital zoom. LG S365 price in India is expected to be Rs 3940. The launch date of mobile is still in speculation.

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited(MTNL) is targeting the turn over around Rs. 5250 crore in next fiscal. The PSU(Public sector unit) has set a one million additional broadband users and aims to take the total subscriber base to 2 million including Wire line and Wireless connection. “MTNL has signed the MoU with Department of Telecom, as per which, we are expecting turn over of Rs. 5,250 cr for the current financial year,"MTNL Chairman and Managing Director Kuldip Singh Said.  The company's last year turn over was Rs. 4,900-5,000 crore. The PSU had a revenue of Rs. 4,456 crore in 2008/09.
