Apple devotees had a field day at the launch of iPhone 5, probably the most eagerly awaited phone in the history of the world. Held in San Francisco, this was the first iPhone launch since the death of Apple's founder, Steve Jobs. But CEO Tim Cooks handled the responsibility of the launch brilliantly well. The fifth generation iPhone embraces a completely new glass and aluminium avatar, and is a whooping 18 per cent thinner, and 20 per cent lighter than its predecessor, i.e. iPhone 4S. Apple iPhone 5 is 7.66mm thick, weighs just 112 gram, packs a 4 inch Retina display, which offers a resolution of 1136x640 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9 for full-screen movie playback. Also, the handset will run on iOS 6, and will ditch Google's maps for its own application. Apple's speech recognition software Siri also receives updates that allows it to give the users sports scores, and even book restaurants.
