BlackBerry has announced its plans for a new smartphone, BlackBerry Q5, based on BlackBerry 10.1 operating system. It would be aimed at the growing markets for smartphones such as India, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and China. BlackBerry Q5 would be available in black, white and pink colours and would be available there in market by July 2013. BlackBerry Q5 price in India and other markets is not available at present but this device by Blackberry is for the budget consumers.
The mid-ranged smartphone segment has witnessed many grand launches in the first quarter of this year and soon another soldier from BlackBerry will join the battalion. BlackBerry handsets are well-known for their QWERTY keypad that was missing from the flagship droid of the company, BlackBerry Z10. So to provide the experience of QWERTY keypad along with the touch-enabled screen, the company is rumored to be working upon a cheaper variant of Z10 and Q10. According to the trusted sources Blackberry R10 will soon be joining its reasonably priced R-series smartphones. The leaked images of this rumored handset ensure that it will have red, black and white color variants with a QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen display. The forthcoming device is likely to have the BlackBerry's latest BB10 operating system.

This smartphone was officially unveiled on 30th January 2013 at an press event of BlackBerry with its another sibling, BlackBerry Q10, when the company also introduced its new operating system, BlackBerry 10, and changed its name from RIM to BlackBerry worldwide. Since that day, Indian BlackBerry lovers have been waiting for with bated breaths. Though the price, which was earlier surmised to be around INR 40,000, now appears to be dicey as the trusted sources are saying that the company might tag their flagship droid, Z10, above the guesstimated price. The company has already made it clear that the new BlackBerry 10 operated smartphones will have access to more than 70,000 applications, which include Skype, Amazon Kindle, WhatsApp, SAP and Angry Birds.

According to the reports, the full touch screen flagship model with dual-core processor will hit the Indian shores as early by March, 2013 at an expected price of Rs. 35,000.

Research in Motion (RIM) is day-by-day innovating new products in order to capture the current third generation smartphones market. Another revelation by RIM is BlackBerry Curve 9320 which claims to be the 3G variant of BlackBerry Curve 9220. It is marketed as a low cost smartphone by RIM but the price of BlackBerry Curve 9320 has not been declared by the company officially but it is expected to be somewhere around Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 12,000. The company is mum on the availability of BlackBerry Curve 9320 in the Indian market which is assumed to be announced at the time of its release.
RIM, in an attempt to please its customers, has decided to offer apps worth of Rs. 2500 free of cost to the BlacBerry Curve 9220 users. As a strategy being employed by the company in regard to the launching of the Blackberry Curve 9220 in the Indian market, the company is allowing its users to download some selected apps from the BlackBerry App World. These applications cost somewhere around Rs. 2500 and are being offered for free. Canadian company, Research in Motion (RIM), has announced BlackBerry Mobile Fusion software that provides similar BlackBerry enterprise solutions on Apple iPhone and Android phone handsets that run on iOS and Android platforms. This new software from RIM would enable user to easily access information and send emails in more secured manner. Earlier Blackberry enterprise used to permit only BlackBerry devices for security and management operations, and employees were not allowed to use other devices like iOS and Android devices in the office as data security was a main concern. Now with the new BlackBerry Mobile Fusion software, which is based on BlackBerry enterprise server allows the enterprise to manage both iOS and Android-based devices.

Recently, RIM relaunched its eminent and prominent CDMA smartphone, called Blackberry Curve 8530 in India for just Rs. 11,990.
