Few days back, there were rumors in the air that Intel is planning to launch its Intel-powered Android smartphone in India at an affordable price. Confirming the rumors, last week only the Managing Director of Intel for South Asia, Debjani Ghosh, enunciated that the company is working with its Indian OEMs to propel their Android based Intel processor powered smartphone in India for a reasonable amount of Rs. 7,000 only. Though the MD of Intel hasn't confirmed any date for its launch but most probably this handset might touch the grounds in Q1 2013 which will also experience some other major launches and announcements that are expected in the CES 2013. Already known to everyone that the India-based partner for Intel's first Intel Medfield power smartphone is Lava, which is named Lava XOLO X900. The company has codenamed their new Android smartphone as Intel Lexington, which is supposed to head first Kenya. The device seems to have a reference design, on noticing its looks, which increases the chances of its launching with other company's branding.
Intel has been always number one in the computer market and it has been the chief supporter of MeeGo. Intel gives the fine example of its processor in laptops like HCL Me AP10 A1 and HCL Me AM7 A1. Till now ruling the computers and laptops with its processors, it will now step into the world of Tablet PCs. The firm has much more strong and smart tactic to get into the mobile segment. It will reveal over 10 new tablets at the Computex on 31st May 2011. This information was given the chief executive of Intel, Mr. Paul Otellini.
According to the new updates that have come up, it is believed that Intel is now interested in supplying Apple with A4 and A5 chips. It is known that presently Apple gets its supplies for these chips from Samsung for its different devices like the Apple ipad 2 Wifi. Intel is designing its own processors of ARM resulting in A4 and dual-core A5 and supplies Apple with the CPU compound for its desktops and notebook computers.
