Sony Ericsson Walkman brand is back with a bang and this time has android OS in it. Sony Ericsson today announced details of a new promotion that will give every Xperia owner 50GB of free file sharing and storage in partnership with Box. By simply logging into their Box account through the Box for Android application in the Android Marketplace, Xperia owners globally will be able to enjoy free cloud storage and file sharing for life. The Box promotion begins on 15 December 2011 through until December 31, 2012, and is available to all consumers worldwide who own any Xperia smartphone including and released after Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. Sony Ericsson is on the verge of launching its last Smartphone with “Sony Ericsson” branding, known as Sony Ericsson Nozomi aka Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD. The image that was leaked over the internet showed some major highlights, one being its user interface, which is expected to be superb. Content on the platform will be updated at regular intervals from the growing pool of contributors.

Sony Ericsson has recently made an announcement that while other Xperia mobiles are upgraded to Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 will get an update to Andorid 2.3.3. The Android 2.2 Froyo was the initial operating system on the Xperia X10, which now gets upgraded to Android 2.3.3. Sony Ericsson in response to the query if Xperia X10 will get any more upgrades had confirmed that the mobile has been existing in the market for more than a year and it will not see any more updations.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro is listed among the product listings on a leading online retailer, which helps us in  placing the Xperia Pro price at Rs 23,990. The online retailer has the “coming soon” tag alongside the listing; the retailer is accepting the pre-bookings for the model that is expected to be available shortly.  The mobile manufacturer had earlier announced the launch of the new slide-out phone with QWERTY keypad earlier without revealing the price of the phone. The company has for the first time crossed the launch date without actually making the phone available in the market.

Of late, Sony Ericsson Mobiles made an official announcement that all its Xperia devices will get dusted with the latest Android 4.0 ice cream sandwich update. Nonetheless, the update will only be given when Google will legitimately launch Android 4.0 ice sandwich OS. However, in the past Sony Ericsson Xperia devices, such as Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc suffered a lot of problem while receiving Android 2.3 gingerbread update. All these Xperia devices received gingerbread update pretty late.

Sony Ericsson Mobiles is has finally introduced its much awaited Smartphones, Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V and Sony Ericsson Pro in the Indian mobile market. There were already reports floating in the market that Indian market will soon be adorned with Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro and Sony Ericsson Neo V Smartphones. Internationally, both these phones were announced in February 2011 and now are the time that both these Smartphones have finally arrived in India.

Sony Ericsson is pretty excited to launch three of its mobiles on October 18^th including, Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V, Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro and Sony Ericsson Txt. While the three mobiles are anticipated to be launched in Delhi and Bangalore on the 18^th of this month, the Mumbai launch is expected to take place on the 20^th. The Xperia Neo V is the upgraded version on the Xperia Neo, which is being offered with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. The 1 GHz processor clocks the unit and a 32 MB internal storage of the device can be extended up to 32 GB using the microSD card. The candy bar designed phone has a 3.7” display screen with Sony BRAVIA technology, which Sony uses in its TV range. A 5 MP camera on the phone is bestowed with the features like the autofocus and LED flash and supports a video shoot of 720 p HD at 30 FMS. The new handset is powered by a 1500 mAH battery that supports 7 hrs of talk-time. The connectivity features on the phone are offered through the Wi-Fi, 3G and GPS and the Google applications like, Gmail, gtalk an Maps are supported on the phone. This phone is available at around Rs 17,500.

Grapevine is the one thing that keeps the Indian mobile market live and alive. This time a report suggests that Sony Ericsson is ready to introduce a line of new handsets for the Indian market in near future. It is not necessary that all rumors are true, but it is possible that this rumor be a reality. It is expected that Sony Ericsson might launch few handsets this festive season. However, till now the firm has not revealed any kind of information about the awaited handsets as it recently announced Sony Ericsson Xperia Active and Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active, which had been announced by the manufacturer in August will be available in the stores from October-end. However, one of the mobile retailer has started taking bookings already. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active price in India Rs 19,990. The Xperia Active will run on the Android Gingerbread platform, which works with support of a 1 GB CPU. The company is shipping the mobile with a soft back cover, headsets with detachable ear plugs, a wrist strap and an arm case as well. The Xperia Active is a water proof mobile, which can stay upto 30 minutes in 1m of water.

Apparently, Sony is looking to pull the plugs out of the JV with Ericsson. Ericsson is the Network Equipment Provider (NEP) for the Sony phones and the latest reports suggest that a Japanese company is mulling to buy the Ericsson’s $1.3 -$1.7 billion worth of stake in the partnership. On the other hand, the mobile manufacturer is said to focus on smartphone manufacturing leaving behind the feature phones. However, the company will continue to be a leader in the tablets, computers, stereos, game consoles and TV manufacturing.

Sony Ericsson Mobiles has rejuvenated its Xperia line with the introduction of Neo V, successor to the popular Xperia Neo phone. Anticipated release date of Sony Ericsson Neo V is October 12th which was supposedly last quarter of the year before.  Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V price in India will be around Rs. 17,999 which is a modest price considering the features of the smartphone. Neo V is a slightly step down version of original Xperia Neo, which never got released in India.
