Sony has finally unveiled its first ever dual core smartphone without the Ericsson brand in the Indian market. The smartphone has been named as Sony Xperia S. The official unveiling of the Android 2.3 Xperia S smartphone was recently done by the company. Sony Xperia S has some very attractive features including an impressive 12 megapixels camera having a resolution of 4000 x 3000 pixels and the Exmor R CMOS sensor. Xperia S has been priced at Rs. 32,549 by the company in the Indian market. To add to the amazing image capturing potential of the smartphone is its amazing video capturing ability.
Sony, the Japanese media giant, is on the urge to reduce its workforce by cutting 10,000 jobs, worldwide, till the end of 2014 after facing a continuous loss for the past 4 straight years. Over the next 2 fiscal years, the company is planning to cut down about 6% of the company's global workforce which will be the result from selling or spinning off of the businesses that are not giving any profit to the company and are the major cause of the company's fall. The company hasn't done any official announcement till yet but these cuts are the part of restructuring plan by the new CEO of Sony and are expected to be announced at the forthcoming corporate strategy meeting. The company till now is completey denying the news but rumors are in the airs as the company is facing loss since eight years in its television division.
Japanese electronic manufacturing company Sony will officially launch their Sony Xperia S from April 10 in the Indian stores. This is the first self branded phone from Sony after they dissolved the partnership with Ericsson. This smart phone device is available at a price of Rs. 32, 549. Xperia S is available in black and white colors. This phone made its first appearance at CES show which was held earlier this year. Later this phone was displayed at MWC 2012 Barcelona, Spain.
Last summer, images of Sony Xperia Duo surfaced, which is reckoned as a high-end mobile handset from Sony, with dual processor. Xperia Duo from Sony was supposed to be released in September last year, though it did not happen. Sony recently applied to United States Patent and Trademark Office [USPTO] for Duo name, which means that this phone might very soon surface in world mobile market. Sony Xperia Duo will come with a 4.5-inch display area with a display resolution of 540 X 960 pixels with LED backlit capacitive touch screen and it supports 16M colors. The display screen of this phone is protected by scratch resistant glass and the display is equipped with Timescape User Interface.
Sony mobiles has announced that it will roll out Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating System for Sony Xperia phones. Sony mentioned about this update at Mobile World Congress meet which was held in Barcelona, Spain. Japanese mobile handset manufacturer said that they would be rolling out updates by mid of April 2012, the process will last for 4 to 6 weeks.

AT&T, the first global telecom operator to directly serve the Indian market, recently declared that it will begin the sale of the new dual screen Sony Tablet P on the 4 March 2012. The cost of this honeycomb tablet has been fixed at $399.99 if the 2 year agreement is desired by the customer. However, buyers can also get the tablet at $549.99 if they do not want the agreement. As far as the looks of the tablet are concerned, it has a very different folding design. Sony Tablet P has a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor with a speed of 1 GHz, 2 displays of 5.5 inches, ICS Android 3.2 OS, Wi-Fi, 4G and a RAM of 1GB. The company is giving an already-installed application known as the "Select App," which enables dual display games and other apps to run on the tablet.
