Notion Ink, a Bangalore based corporation, is all set to launch a dual-display tablet, named Notion Ink Adam 2. A day back, Notion Ink officially unveiled the tablet at an event organized for National Technology Awards 2013 in New Delhi. Back in January 2011, the company announced the successor of its first tablet Adam, but due to some unknown issues, the device never reached the shelves in the market, as a result of which the corporate defocused itself for about a year.

iBall is back in news with two of its latest phablets, iBall Andi 5L and 5Li. To lure the segment that could most easily bring profit to the company, the middle class segment, both the tablets have been priced attractively. Both, iBall Andi 5L and Andi 5Li price in India is Rs. 10,490. The last heard product from the company had come in August 2012, iBall Andi 5c, which sported a  5-inch screen. These new launches now have almost the same features except a few minor differences.

Nokia has officially unveiled the first member of the most popular Asha series, Nokia Asha 501, which will run on the new operating system, rather than the obsolete S40 platform. As reported earlier, the handset is a refurnished version of previous Asha series phones, which sports trendy colors, high-quality build and a more interactive user interface. This newest Asha member shares the design from the low-end Lumia smartphones.

Back in December 2012, we had reported that HTC might come up with some Windows RT tablets in varied screen sizes. The then-rumored tablets, named HTC R7 and R12, have now appeared online with some apparent specifications and features. It is not the first time that HTC has been developing for tablets segment. Back in May 2011, it had released a 7-inch slate called HTC Flyer, which was later discontinued in the same year due to fall in the demand. Since then the company has kept an eye over the tablet market looking for the right opportunity to bring some products here and create the same magic that it has spread in the smartphone arena.

The next big thing from Micromax, which is all set to rip off all the competition, has finally appeared online. You guessed it right! Samsung Galaxy Star was announced a month back and now it has appeared on the official website of the company. From the appearance and spec-sheet, it can be assumed that it will be a low-cost device but nothing can be assured as there is no word on the pricing and availability of this Android smartphone. Some of the remarkable features in Samsung Galaxy Star are stylish and compact form factor, superior performance, rich & interactive user interface and dual-SIM support.

Tata Infiniti Retail is a well-known name that runs a national chain of multi-brand electronics stores under the brand name Croma. Seeing smartphone segment as a potential market, the company too has tried out its hands at it by launching a smartphone and a phablet with Android OS. Both the devices are now up for sale in India, with Croma Smartphone price in India being Rs. 8,990 and Croma Phablet Rs. 10,990. Headquartered in Mumbai, Infiniti Retail has its stores in many Indian cities where it offers a huge variety of products under various brands and categories. Being a product of an Indian company, the Tata Group, both the newly launched Croma smartphones have been tagged quite reasonably.

Karbonn is ready to release its another quad-core smartphone named as Karbonn S2 Titanium that is gearing up for its expected launch on 14th May this year. Successor of Titanium S1, Titanium S2 is now available for pre-order with a price tag of Rs. 10,790 in India. The Indian smartphone maker, Karbonn, is welcoming the initial customers by offering a free flap cover with the purchase of this 5-inch phablet.

The mid-ranged smartphone segment has witnessed many grand launches in the first quarter of this year and soon another soldier from BlackBerry will join the battalion. BlackBerry handsets are well-known for their QWERTY keypad that was missing from the flagship droid of the company, BlackBerry Z10. So to provide the experience of QWERTY keypad along with the touch-enabled screen, the company is rumored to be working upon a cheaper variant of Z10 and Q10. According to the trusted sources Blackberry R10 will soon be joining its reasonably priced R-series smartphones. The leaked images of this rumored handset ensure that it will have red, black and white color variants with a QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen display. The forthcoming device is likely to have the BlackBerry's latest BB10 operating system.

Wickedleak has come with another 7-inch tablet PC in India, which is dubbed as Wammy Desire Tab 2. Also known as Wammy Desire II, the tablet is a successor of earlier launched Wammy Desire Tab which also had a 7-inch display, dual-core 1.5GHz processor and Android Jelly Bean operating system on-board. While this latest contribution from Wickedleak is ruled by a 1.4GHz Exynos 4412 quad-core processor that accommodates 1GB of RAM and works in perfect harmony with Mali-400 graphic processor unit. Its 7-inch IPS screen parade the videos and stills at a picture resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels at a pretty decent pixel density of 210 pixels per inch. The internal storage seems sufficient with 8GB of capacity, which can be expanded by another 32GB via a micro SD card.

It’s buzzing all over the technology arena that Nokia is ready to present its popular budget-friendly league of Asha handsets with a new punch. Reportedly, on 9th May, Nokia will host a global press event in New Delhi, where the company may announce Asha 501 handset along with few other devices. However, the press invites don't specify the subject of launch but as the invites were sent by Asha’s team members, so it can be assumed safely that these apparent devices would belong to Asha series. Stephen Elop, CEO commented on reframing the Asha series with a new design language and user interface by saying, “We have to make sure the product portfolio is as competitive as possible. We are due for a significant refresh.”

With the increased popularity and usage of tablets in India, countless local and global tablet manufacturers are coming with their new launches every fortnight. Gaining on the booming market, Zync, the Indian tablet brand has added a new slate, Zync Quad 10.1 to its league of quad-core based devices. Last month only, Zync came with three Jelly Bean based tablets - Zync Quad 9.7, Quad 8.0 and Dual 7.0. The company has been doing sufficiently well in entry-level segment and now with these recent launches, it has proved itself in high-end tablet market too.

Tablet market has seen an exponential growth over the past few years. Following the same trend to this year, it has leaped to 142.4% till now and it still is the first quarter itself. The quarterly tablet tracker report generated by IDC declared that in this Q1, total 27.8 million Android tablets were dispatched, which is more than total number of tablet shipped in first half of 2012. Apple received the tag of top tablet vendor with highest shipping number throughout the first three months of the year, followed by Samsung, Asus and Amazon. However, in 2013, overall market share of iPads in tablet market has plunged harshly in comparison to the previous year.

Spice is coming up with new launches every day. It was just a few days back that they announced Spice Slatepad voice calling tablet with a 7-inch display, Android 4.1 and 3G. Now, today the company has revealed a new budget smartphone, Spice Smart Flo Pace 2 Mi-502. The most attractive part of this Android device is obviously, the low price, Rs 6999, at which it is available with various online retailers and other stores.
