LG officially unveils its most rumoured L-series smartphones that features latest design aesthetics and up-scaled configurations. The company just announced its next generation smartphones - Optimus L3 II, Optimus L5 II and Optimus L7 II, which are expected to launch at the upcoming Mobile Worlds Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Last year, LG unveiled Optimus L3, L5 and L7 at the MWC 2012 and claimed to sold over 10 million L-series devices in the first 10 months. Built on the success grounds of L-series smartphones, this another package of entry-level to mid-ranged handsets are ready to get unleash upon the world.
Nokia Asha series has done wonders for the company and continuing on the same path, Nokia has introduced another sepoy today of the popular Asha line-up, Nokia Asha 310, with dual SIM support. No doubt, it is again a budgeted handset with smartphone-like features that makes it pretty comparable to the other low-cost Android smartphones available in the market. The alluring feature in this handset is its Wi-Fi connectivity that is very rare in low-cost mobiles. The company has announced that this phone will be available first in India and then in the rest of Asia the Middle East, Africa and Brazil in the first quarter of 2013.

The Indian Electronics manufacturer, Simmtronics Semiconductor Ltd., has expanded its budgeted tablet portfolio with the launch of XPAD X1010 Android tablet in the domestic market. After the release of 7-inch XPAD X-720 and 8-inch XPAD X-801, the company is now ready with a new big-sized beast, X1010, which can be purchased from India’s online and offline stores. Priced at INR 8,499, the gadget is claimed to be the cheapest 10-inch tablet currently available in the country.

Another low budget tablet has hit the shelves in India at a minimal price of Rs. 6,770. Lava Etab Xtron is the name of the tab that has Android Jelly Bean operating system as its base and under the hood is powered by a dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocking at 1.5GHz speed with a quad-core Mali 400 GPU for best graphics performance.
The Korean manufacturer, Samsung made a silent release of Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Wi-Fi variant in India. Dubbed as Galaxy Tab 2 311, this Jelly Bean powered slate shares the name and features from its 3G network supporting cousin, Galaxy Tab 2 310 , which was announced last year in February’s Mobile World Congress (MWC). Samsung India opened the booking too, for this Wi-Fi variant few weeks back and now it is ready for sale on company’s official e-store for INR 13,900, whereas the 3G version, which has been available in the market for almost nine months, is priced at INR 19,000.
As the world’s biggest technology event, Mobile World Congress (MWC) is approaching closer, majority of tech players from all over the world are contending hard to gain maximum spot light prior to the episode, which is starting from 25th to 28th February in Barcelona, Spain. LG has put a teaser image ahead of MWC, on its official Facebook page under the honest tag line ‘See what surprise LG has in store for you this time, with an unexpected distinction’. The gift wrapped image is indicating about the company’s plan to announce new smartphone line-up by the current year. However, the series name is not yet confirmed but believing the reports, it might be the F-series, which was previously revealed by the company.

After the miraculous release of the Samsung Galaxy Grand just two weeks ago, the Korean manufacturer is again planning something interesting for the Samsung fans. Samsung India is organising a press event on Feburary 14th (Friday) in New Delhi. It has already sent the invites for this upcoming event, which says “Now your world is open” in addition to a silhouette of a smartphone underneath a white sheer cloth, which strongly resembles Galaxy S III Mini and Galaxy Fame that was recently announced. According to the trusted sources, the probability of Galaxy S III Mini to get unveiled is a little higher than Samsung Galaxy Frame.
Zync is planning to launch five new tablets, all to be ranged below INR 15,000 by the end of this month. The tablets will be housing a dual-core and quad-core processors and will come in variety of sizes - 7 inch, 8 inch, 9.7 inch and 10.1 inch screens. Though, no detailed specs and names are revealed yet by the company but Zync briefed some of the key features that the tablets will be having. According to the company, its 8-inch and 10.1-inch tablets will be country's first quad-core tablets in this price segment. Also, some of these tablets will be using the Apple’s iPad 3 screen that implies exhibiting a high pixel resolution screen equivalent to the Retina display.
The phablet market of India is growing exponentially with the regular releases of big-size smartphones from local and global manufacturers. The latest offering, Karbonn Smart A111 is another addition to the portfolio of affordable dual-SIM smartphones with large display. Though, the device has yet to been announced officially, it is available with online retailers at Rs. 10,290. Karbonn Smart A111 comes with a fabulous 5.0-inch capacitive touch display with multi-touch capabilities and comes powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Scorpion dual-core processor. On memory front, the droid packs 4GB of internal storage that is expandable by another 32GB via microSD card in addition to 512MB RAM.
S Mobility just introduced Stellar Buddy Mi-315 smartphone in India at INR 3,490, which is a cheapest Android smartphone till date by the company. Spice Stellar Buddy Mi-315 features 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that becomes standard in entry-level smartphones but the picture resolution of the display is still unknown. The smartphone is powered by 1GHz processor that is coupled with 256MB RAM for smooth operations and light multitasking.
As promised, the Indian mobile manufacturer, Micromax, which is growing and gaining more-than-expected popularity among the crowd at a very fast rate, has announced another low-budget smartphone, named as Micromax Ninja A27. Though there are no words on the price, it is expected to be around Rs. 4,500. The phone will run on the obsolete yet majorly used version of Android, Gingerbread version 2.3 OS and will have dual SIM support. Few weeks back, the company announced that it is planning to launch nearly 30 products in the market this year including tablets too, out of which the company has already announced or launched nearly 10 devices till date.
After releasing HCL ME V1 and Y3 Android tablets in the Indian market, HCL has moved further and launched the third sibling of the trio, HCL ME U2, today for Rs. 5,999, which is a very reasonable price as per the prevailing competition in the market. This Android-based tablet is now available throughout the country. The company held a press conference today in the capital of the country, New Delhi, where it announced the launch of this budgeted tablet. Out of the trio, ME U2 is the lowest priced Android tablet, as the other two tabs, ME V1 and Y3, are tagged for around Rs. 8000 and Rs. 12,000, respectively. The low-cost segment for tablets is facing neck-in-neck competition from the players like Acer, Micromax, Amazon, etc. and even Samsung has also entered into this arena with reasonably price tablets. Last month only, Acer launched Acer Iconia B1 Tab for Rs. 8,000 and has even planned to launch more quad-core processor based tablets soon in the market. Noticing all this, it would be difficult to say which manufacturer will rule the market.
