There is a flood of low-cost tablet in India and now users can own a tablet for just Rs. 5965, giving credit to Videocon, which stepped in with its Android OS based tablet called Videocon VT75C. Special features of this tablet PC have already grabbed the press attention as the mobile gadget comes with 3G (via USB dongle) and voice calling support. It is enabled with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 800 x 480p of picture resolution and holds a whooping power with the 1GHz processor. This tablet when looked closely, seems to be a merger of Videocon VT-10 and Videocon VT-717.
Blackberry is already bear hugged new technology with its BlackBerry 10 operating system. And now the company is soon going to add a new product to their clan, a 10-inch tablet which would be working on this new operating system by Blackberry. This news is doing its round with a leaked image of BlackBerry's device roadmap. It appeared online on Friday in a tweet by @BB10Leak with news of BlackBerry’s forthcoming devices. It states that the 10 inch tablet in Q3 (July-Sept) and another touch phone BlackBerry Q10 with larger display in 4th quarter (Sept-Dec) would be launched by Blackberry.
Recently, Huawei has attracted many folks from the news arena by introducing two entry level smartphones in the Indian market. A month back, these smartphones were flashed at the MWC 2013 and, now, they are available for pre-order on some online portals. Dubbed as Ascend G510 and Ascend Y300, both these smartphones have virtuous specifications and are priced roughly at around Rs. 11,000 and Rs. 8,000 respectively. Appended to the Ascend series of Huawei, both of the novelties pack features similar to their siblings Ascend G600, G330, and G300.
After the launch of Optimus G, it was believed that LG will soon start working on the new handset or a successor of Optimus G. Rumoured as Optimus G2, this new smartphone has just appeared on a benchmarking site, which also revealed some of its specifications. Notably, LG Optimus G sports a 4.7-inch IPS HD capacitive touchscreen, Android Jelly Bean OS and comes powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon united with 2GB of RAM.
After launching a series of mid-range smartphones such as Xperia E, Xperia L and Xperia SP, the Japanese vendor, Sony, is reported to be planning another launch of a budget friendly smartphone, which will be an entry-level phone of the company. Well, there is no confirmation right now but according to news from the trusted sources, it is found that Sony has ordered MediaTek quad-core processors which might be used in upcoming entry level models.
Datawind, the Aakash tablet makers, are again in the news for their latest Tablet launch. Dubbed as Datawind Ubislate 7C+ Edge, this newly launched tablet is a part of company’s Ubislate portfolio, which also includes UbiSlate 7Ri, UbiSlate 7R+, UbiSlate 7Ci and UbiSlate 7C+ launched last year. By now, the tablet has been spotted on few online retailers with a price tag of INR 5,999 and it is expected that the tablet will soon be available at major offline stores or retail shops.
HTC Desire P and Desire Q photos and specifications have just emerged online, pointing out that HTC has a pair of mid-range smartphones that might hit the market any time. According to the reports, HTC Desire P shows a resemblance to HTC Desire SV, having a 4.3 WVGA display, 8MP rear camera, dual-core 1GHz processor, a front facing camera, microSD card slot along with Beats Audio technology, onboard.
The much awaited, entry-level Xperia series smartphones, Sony Xperia E and Xperia E dual are finally up for sale via online retailers in India. Both the smartphones were announced back in December and users have to spend INR 9,990 for Xperia E and INR 10,990 for Xperia E Dual smartphone. Both the handsets pack similar spec-sheet, except the fact that Xperia E Dual has Dual SIM feature that allows user to use two different GSM connections.
Nexus 7, the Google Tablet, is now officially available on Google Play Store in India. Few months back, Asus had brought the same tablet in India and sold limited pieces at quite a higher price of 20k via major stores. Dawned in June 2012, Google Nexus 7 was available as an 8GB Wi-Fi version initially. By now, it has been replaced by a 16GB Wi-Fi version and is available at 15,999 INR on Google Play India store. Once the order is placed by paying online via a credit or debit card, the tablet will be shipped within a week.

The new Union Budget 2013 did not prove too helpful for the mobile phone segment, as the government has increased the excise duty on handsets from 1 to 6 percent. The price of Micromax A116 Canvas HD has registered a price hike of Rs. 14,499, which was earlier available for Rs. 13,990. On the other side, LG Optimus G is now up for Rs. 32,990, a sudden increase of nearly Rs. 2,000. Before this, the phone could be purchased for Rs. 30,999, though the increased price is still less than what the company is offering, that is, INR 34,500.
