Mobile News India - April 2012 might see Blackberry Curve 9220 in Indian mobile market

Research In Motion company (RIM) is all set to release their two Blackberry mobiles in Curve segment; out of two curve models, one model is Blackberry Curve 9220. Blackberry mobiles is planning Curve 9220 to launch to Indian mobile market in April according to some news report inputs.  Curve 9220 is an entry level phone, with a dedicated button for Blackberry Messenger. This phone does not have features of a 3G phone. Blackberry Curve 9220 might be priced at Rs. 9,000.

Curve 9220 is a successor model of Curve 8520. Curve 9220 comes with a display area of 2.4 inch with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixel. Curve 9220 has a Blackberry operating system, and fitted with single core processor. Curve 9220 has 512MB RAM, and the memory of Curve 9220 is scalable upto 32GB through microSD card. Curve 9220 is a GSM phone supporting frequencies 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz. Curve 9220 supports GPS satellite system. Curve 9220 comes with a browser for sending e-mails using IMAP, POP3, and SMTP protocols. The messaging services like MMS and SMS is available on this handset with predictive text input option.

Curve 9220 is fitted with 2.0 megapixels camera. The 2.0 megapixels camera has a picture resolution of 1600 x 1200. This  phone is fitted with LED flash, for better picture quality even at low light conditions. The camera has some additional features like geotagging and digital zooming ability. Curve 9220 has FM radio. This phone has sensors like Compass, Accelerometer, and Proximity sensor. Curve 9220 has excellent connectivity through 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0, Curve 9220 supports EDGE and GPRS technology. Curve 9220 supports most of the music and video formats and is fitted with 3.5 mm audio jack. Though this phone was supposed to reach the market by second quarter of 2012 but nothing is official till date.
