This year the world will experience the magic of Sony mobiles, as its not been even a month when the company has released Sony Xperia U and Sony Xperia Sola, which are mid-end Xperia siblings, and now there is another launch by Sony mobiles in the mid-range segment, Sony Xperia P. This smartphone will be available at a price range of Rs. 25,500 from next week in India. The company has taken this step in order to compete with the handsets of Samsung that are currently dominating the mid-range market of India and there are more new handsets in the pipeline, which are expected to be released in the rest of the year.
So in order to increase the market share, Sony mobiles has uncovered its flagship smartphone, Sony Xperia S, along with some mid-end smartphones which includes Xperia P also. Sony Xperia P is powered by a dual core processor and has 4 inches LED-backlit LCD display with capacitive touchscreen which offers a QHD resolution of 540 x 960 pixels with multitouch facility. This smartphone is running on the platform of Android 2.3 Gingerbread which can be upgradeable to v.4.0 ICS OS. It is blessed with an 8 MP auto focus camera with LED Flash facility and has many features like 3D sweep panorama, geo-tagging, etc. and boasts mobile BRAVIA technology by Sony. There is no micro-SD card slot but it has an internal capacity of 16 GB with 1 GB of RAM and provides connectivity options through EDGE/GPRS via 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, etc.

One can listen to FM radio which has RDS technology and the 3.5 mm earphone jack permits the user to attach Sony Xperia P with speakers and woofers. One can have a continuous talktime up to 5 hours on 3G and 6 hours on 2G, giving credit to the standard Li-Ion 1,305 mAh battery which also allows a music play up to 80 hours. Soon the Indian smartphone market will be flooded with surplus of handsets, releasing every now and then, with continuously changing technology.
