Apple iPhone is often the first name to pass through our mind about when we talk about smartphones. As iPhone has always been the cherry on the cake when compared to other mobiles. Alluring the users with its eye-catching features, Apple Mobiles makes use of the latest technology. On 25 November 2011, Apple hit the market with its super stylish device, iPhone 4S, which is a sensation altogether. But wait! The race is not yet finished. Samsung Mobiles is all ready to give a tough competition to Apple iPhone 4S. Samsung is launching Samsung Galaxy S3 with numerous impressive features that were not present in the earlier versions. It seems like Samsung has worked very hard this time to get an edge over all other mobile brands. Galaxy S3 was has been launched very recently, around Rs. 40,000. The price of iPhone 4S is also in the same range, that is, approximately Rs. 42,000. Talking about the looks, both of the smartphones look totally mesmerizing. Moving further towards specifications, Galaxy is offering a pretty large display screen that measures 4.8 inches diagonally as compared with the iPhone's screen size that is of 3.5 inches.

That makes Galaxy nearly twice in size but still it is thinner and lighter. Unlike the iPhone, the Galaxy runs on faster 4G cellular networks though AT&T advertises its iPhones as 4G, but the network is based on older technology. Galaxy also comes with a new wireless technology called near-field communications, which can be used to share files and make purchases. Screenshots taken with the Galaxy are sharper, clearer and have better light balance than those with the iPhone. The comparison although is not entirely fair enough, as this model of iPhone is about 8 months old, and it is soon launching the new one. So one can now expect some alterations in the operating system and promising improvements to its Siri virtual assistant, a mapping service with voice navigation and more.
Switching back to Galaxy, it is offering the device in the shades of white or blue. AT&T will also have a red version this summer, but it won't carry the 32 GB model. The lustre of Galaxy when displaying widescreen video is inspiring. That's because much of the display's increase is in width rather than in height when the phone is placed in landscape mode. The iPhone wastes some display to make wider videos fit. There are unused strips of black above and below those videos. Talking about the storage capacity, a microSD card can be inserted for additional storage of up to 64 gigabytes. In iPhone, there's no slot for more storage. Galaxy supports 4G technology whereas, current iPhones don't work with 4G, though the AT&T version says it does because it uses an upgraded 3G network, using a technology called LTE.
Both devices are well equipped with two cameras, including an 8 megapixel one in the back. Galaxy's front-facing camera does more than just taking pictures. When you're reading something, the camera will see your eyes gazing on the screen, so your phone won't switch to power-saving mode. The iPhone's screen will start to dim if you don't touch it periodically. Though it is appearing to us as if Galaxy excels in all the specifications mentioned here, but still there are some features that are dedicated only to iPhone. Some softwares are designed to run over iPhone only. The iPhone has Siri, the virtual assistant that hears your voice commands and talks back.No other smartphone can match the intelligence and excellence of Siri. If you are obsessed with iPhone then it is always a good choice to go for, otherwise Galaxy is offering many reasons to stick to Android though you'll miss out the delights of using Siri, but Samsung Galaxy S3 is an inspiring device loaded with the latest technology and features.
