It is no secret that the month of September has been brimming with technology. Tech giants from all over the world are in full swing, launching and announcing devices and software every second day. From Windows 8 to the fifth generation Apple iPhone, the world has seen it all. And now it is HTC to deliver the latest. The company has now announced a rather budget-friendly 8S smartphone. Given the fact that the world is in a Windows 8 trance, it is quite obvious that the device is a Windows 8 device. And its mid-range status is no mystery either, since the name features the suffix that implies its status, just like HTC One S. But this one did not come alone, HTC announced another Windows 8 device, i.e. HTC 8X, the high-end device in HTC's Windows 8 line-up. It may be the low-end device of the range, but HTC lets the 8S's features do the talking.

The very fashionable smartphone sports a 4-inch WVGA display that delivers a resolution of 800x480 pixels, and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and 512MB RAM. Like its bigger sibling 8X, 8S also features the Beats Audio system but is missing the extra amplifier. Though the handset isn't too big on the internal memory front with a paltry 4GB, the microSD slot will allow users to expand the memory according to their needs. Other than that, it packs in a 5-megapixel snapper on the back with f/2.8 aperture and a 35mm lens, which allows users to shoot 720p videos. The HTC 8S is undoubtedly quite a looker, which is further complemented by the myriad of colours it is being offered in. Though there is no word on its pricing yet, it is expected to be launched in November along with HTC 8X.
