It is official now. Apple's resized version of the immensely popular iPad has been christened iPad mini. Ready for an October launch, the 7.85 inch version shares the fundamental design with its predecessor, i.e. iPad 3. And dispelling the rumours of a joint launch with the sixth generation iPhone, the marketing savvy company clarifies that it wouldn't dare take away the attention from its star device (iPhone), and will launch it a month before iPad mini. Rumoured to sport a IGZO display with 330ppi along with a smaller 19-pin dock connector, the latest version of Apple iPad may be priced a tad bit aggressively with speculations of a $200 price tag.

With pre-orders for iPhone 5 set to begin on September 12, and the iPad mini launch in October, Apple retains the tag of being the leader in the trade of smartphones and tablets even after the legal war against Samsung.
