Established in March 2009, Karbonn Mobiles has been gaining popularity through its attractively priced tablets and smartphones and recently Karbonn has added another member in the tablet line-up by launching Karbonn TA-Fone A37 with voice calling feature. This novel droid is also known as Kommunicate 3G Tablet and it is, by now, available in the market at INR 9,490.
Briefing the specifications, Kommunicate 3G Tablet comes with state-of-the-art Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and holds a 7-inches wide capacitive touch display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels. The tablet is powered by 1GHz processor incorporated with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory.
The rear side is armed with a 2MP primary camera while the front side is housed by a VGA camera. Other Key specifications include dual SIM capability, EDGE support, 3G support with HSPA+ speed, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS alongside to some useful sensors, and a whooping 3,000mAh battery backs up the device. However, it is highly doubtful that the battery will run long enough. Since Karbonn TA-Fone A37 aka Kommunicate 3G Tablet is an entry level device, it may trigger competitions for other low-cost tablets in the market. Recently launched, Micromax Funbook Talk P360 will also compete with Kommunicate 3G.
Though Micromax Funbook Talk P360 has more power of RAM and processor, Karbonn TA-Fone A37 goes a notch higher with its 3G connectivity support. Silently, Karbonn Kommunicate 3G tab has also ripped off the sleep of HCL ME Y3 that has almost same configurations but comes with Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Another drawback with HCL ME Y3 is that it has been priced a bit higher than Karbonn TA-Fone A37 tablet. The competition is getting tough with new low-cost entrants that are trying to take over most of the share in the tablet market.
