Intel and Lava joined hands yesterday and launched the first advertisement of its Android smartphone, which would be powered with Intel’s Medfield processor in India. Orange got the golden opportunity to become the first carrier of this phone. Apparently, this new phone by Lava is codenamed as Santa Clara, which is expected to be launched this summer. Therefore, Lava is still working on the official name of this Android smartphone along with the price tag. Probably, Santa Clara will come at a hefty price tag of Rs. 25000 in India. Many reliable sources has confirmed the development of this device and is likely to be launched in next couple of months.
Coming to the specifications of this Android smartphones, a powerful and dynamic processor clocked at the speed of 1.6 GHz will be major highlight, whereas the 8 megapixels of rear camera will not fail to impress us all. This 8 megapixel of rear camera will have the capability to record 1080p videos and snap 10 pictures per second, which sounds totally amazing. The 4 inches of touchscreen display is fabulous, has a resolution of 1024x600 pixels. The 16GB of internal memory space is more than sufficient while the micro-HDMI port helps in elevated data connectivity.
According to the grapevine, Intel has entirely designed this Android smartphone and is planning to launch it internationally before prominent companies like Lenovo and Motorola launch their phones, which will sport more appealing designs. It would be really interesting to see how the potential customers in India react to the launch and if they are really willing to shed such a hefty amount on a mobile brand like Lava, which is relevantly new and not as eminent as others like Sony, Nokia, Motorola, Apple, Samsung, LG, Micromax and RIM mobiles.
