Description:
Some days ago, there were reports that Lenovo will be launching the Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich OS along with the ThinkPad tablet sometime around in the months from April to June. To add to that the company has now announced that the  Lenovo IdeaPad  tab would also get the ICS update. As is known through information  available till now, the updated version will probably arrive in the country somewhere in the middle of the year around May.

At present the Lenovo Thinkpad tablet and the Lenovo Ideapad table come with Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS. The ThinkPad tab is currently priced at Rs. 45,000 in the country. The tab has various attractive features like a 10.1 inches of display screen, a high-definition resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, a Tegra 2 dual core processor of 1-Ghz and a RAM capacity of 1GB. More details of the Thinkpad will be clear once it is launched in the market.

Unlike the ThinkPad tablet which targets the high-end and upper-class users, the IdeaPad tabs mainly target the segment of the general category of customers. At present two of IdeaPad models are sold in the Indian market - the IdeaPad A1 and the IdeaPad K1 tablet. As evident from the available information, Lenovo will provide the ICS update to the IdeaPad K1 tablet as well as it too currently comes with the Android Honeycomb 3.1. The IdeaPad K1 tablet has features like 1GB RAm, 16GB external memory and a dual-core Nvidia Tegra processor with 1.0 Ghz speed.

During a recent event CES 2012, the company had launched an all new 10-inch tablet, named the IdeaTab S2 which is supported by the ICS OS. Apart from Lenovo, there are another companies like the Asus and Viewsonic which have declared an ICS upgradation for the Eee Pad segment tablet and the ViewPad e70 tablet, respectively.
