LG to open 100 mobile stores soon in India

LG Electronics is planning to open exclusive mobile handset stores of around 100 across in the country. The company has assigned a investment of Rs. 290 crore for marketing strategies. The firm with its increased presence in the retail field targets to get around 10 percent market stake in Indian by the 2010 end. LG Electronics also intending to expand its retail distribution network from 20,000 dealers to 40,000 in India to strengthen its third position among the five biggest majors in the market."We will start approx. 100 exclusive mobile handset brand stores across the country so that Indian buyers can visit and feel the new product range of the company," LG Electronics Business Head Mobile Communication Sudhin Mathur cited. The company also expecting 20 per cent contribution from sales of youth-centric handsets in the range of Rs. 4,000 to 8,000. while LG Electronics is aims to get Rs 3,000 crore turnover in about Rs. 25,000 to Rs.26,000 crore Indian mobile handset industry by the end of this year. On the other hand, the country's leading mobile handset players has launched newly mobile handsets in the mobile market such as
Nokia 2690,
Samsung S5630
Star 3G and
Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro.
