Mobile News India - Olive to launch Android based mobiles in March'11

Olive telecommunications, major electronic components and mobile phone manufactures, is now ready to enter in Android based mobile segment. This is the first Indian company which had launched tablet in Indian market.

The company official reported saying tha Android 2.2 OS based smartphone will be launched in the first week of March 2011. The company has not disclosed any data about the new smartphone but it might be available with affordable price tag.

Some media reports claims that this upcoming Olive smartphone will be major competitor of Samsung Galaxy S and Apple iPad which are the most popular Android based smartphones in the market. Moreover, the company is to launch a big touchscreen mobile phone which might fall between smartphone and tablet. It is expected that new Olive smartphone will be blessed with 5 inches touchscreen display.

Olive Telecommunications is basically an electronic instruments provider and ready to foray in high-fi smartphone market. The company has already launched Olivepad, 3G embedded notebooks and a mobile phone with AA size battery for backup which are getting good response from market.

At present, available mobiles of Olive are Olive FrvrOn VG2300, Olive Msgr VG8000, Olive VG500, Olive Touch VG300, Olive Pwrr VG200, Olive VG400 etc. All these mobiles are available between price range of Rs. 999 to Rs. 6510 in Indian market.
