The South Korean giant, Samsung, has announced that they would be hosting a press conference in New Delhi on 31 May regarding the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S III in the country. The smartphone, though, would be available only after a week. It has been reported by multiple sources that the Galaxy S III would be hitting the Indian market somewhere around June 8. The device is supposed to be priced at Rs. 39,990 which is not the street price and is only the MRP. Since the device is not only a high profile gadget but is also one of the most anticipated device of the season, its price cannot be confirmed and it may have a different price tag like the rest of the phones after its launch.
Right now Samsung has provided the facility of prebooking and would further give the user a free bluetooth handset if they are willing to pay Rs. 2000 in advance to reserve their stake. The device would be going head to head with the HTC One X which was initially priced at Rs. 37,899. HTC One X is currently available at a price of around Rs. 36,000. Samsung may just enhance the price of Samsung Galaxy S III keeping in mind the success of Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note.
The company also possesses a prowess in marketing and would surely flex their muscle to cover as much ground as they can in order to push the device forward. The move if executed would surely edge out the HTC One X. The latter could come back in the game if they reduce the price of their device to a certain extent but that seems highly unlikely. Samsung has already received over 9 million preorders throughout the globe.
