Earlier the news was in the air that Sony Xperia U and Sony Xperia Sola have been put up for sale by some of the retailers but there was no official announcement by Sony Mobiles regarding the confirmation of this news. Now, the company has finally acknowledged the availability of these two devices along with Sony Xperia P in the market. The company has done a partnership with Tata Docomo to provide free data of 3 GB to the users of these smartphones for a duaration of three months. Infact, the 2G customers of Tata Docomo will also do not remain untouched with such an offer as they will also get free 3G data for three months along with 300 minutes of free talk time. The prices of the trio by Sony mobiles, as quoted by the company, are Rs. 25,799 for Sony Xperia P, Rs. 17,399 for Sony Xperia U and Rs. 20,499 for Sony Xperia Sola.
All the three smartphones are on the platform of Android v.2.3 Gingerbread, which can be upgraded to v.4.0 ICS in the near future, and are powered by Dual Core Cortex A-9 processor. All of them has LED-backlit LCD display with capacitive touchscreen but differ in the size of the screen, as Xperia U has 3.5 inch screen whereas Xperia Sola has 3.7 inch and Xperia P has 4 inch wider screen. It terms of camera, all these smartphones has an auto focus camera with LED flash but Xperia P has 8 MP camera whereas the other two has 5 MP camera along with a secondary camera which is present in Xperia P and Xperia U but not in Xperia Sola.
The Xperia P has 16 GB of internal memory with no card slot and a standard battery of Li-Ion 1,305 mAh which provides talk time up to 5 hours whereas Sony Xperia Sola comes with an internal memory of 8 GB with a microSD card slot to extend memory up to 32 GB along with a Li-Ion 1,320 mAh standard battery which permits talk time up to 5 hours on 3G and Xperia U is blessed with an 8 GB of internal capacity with no space for any memory extension and its Li-Ion 1,320 mAh battery can keep the device alive up to 5 hours 38 minutes of talk time. All the three smartphones by Sony has Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine and Timescape UI which makes the experience with these handsets amazing and spell bounding. Day-by-day, the smartphone competition is getting tougher and by the end of the year the whole scenario will change with a positive note.
