Mobile News India - Spice ready to launch tablet PCs in July

With so many companies introducing tablets, Spice is also ready to dive into the ocean of Tablet PCs and launch 3 tablets in India in July 2011, which will run on Android 2.3 OS. According to the MD of Spice Mobility, Mr. Dilip Modi, Spice will launch 3 brand new tablet PCs of 7, 9 and 10 inch that will run on Gingerbread. As far as the price is concerned, these tablet PCs will start from less than just Rs. 20,000.

The 7 inch tablet will be known as Spice MI700 7 that will power driven by Qualcomm chipset and it will also consist of impressive dual cameras for high quality video calling. This tablet will be available in 2 models, Wi-Fi and 3G.  Other tablet PCs by Spice will be known as Spice Mi700 9 and Spice Mi700 10. Earlier, Spice had made public that it is planning to launch some more economical Android handsets for the Indian customers, which will be between the price range of Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10000. Currently, Spice has 2 Android devices, Spice Mi 310 and Spice Mi-300.

The new gingerbread Spice tablets will have features, such as Mp3 and Mp4 player, video recorder, 3.5 mm audio jack, G-sensor, speaker phone, Google maps, Facebook, E-compass sensor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS. Edge, 512 Mb of RAM and 512 Mb of ROM and the memory could be expandable up to 32 GB. The battery of Spice Mi 700 is pretty strong; it is capable of providing proving 6 hours of talk time and stand by time of 520 hours.

However, Spice Mi 700 to compete with Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, will be a spectacle to see. Samsung tablets are already well-liked amongst the public, but Spice tablets being cost-efficient can surely make it big in the mobile market very soon.
