The joint venture after incurring losses for an entire one year finally took a right turn by pulling the plug from CDMA cellphones and centered towards GSM technology that is dominant till date.During the month of October in the year 2003,it registered profit for the first time but feared its fall due to intense competition.The credit for the company's recovery goes to its T610 model that was a huge success in the global market.
Its success with Walkman and Cybershot phones has been tremendous. Sony Ericsson launched K750i,first ever phone with 2 MP camera followed by W800i,the first walkman phone with the capability of continuous playback of 30 hours.
