The Chinese smartphone maker Gionee launched its new smartphone in India today at Rs 8,999. The Gionee X1 is available for purchase through retail stores across India. There are several launch offers associated with the model’s purchase from different service providers. Airtel is giving new or existing users an additional 10GB data per month for the next six recharges. The company is also offering two Paytm discount codes offering a cashback of Rs 250 on a purchase of Rs 350 at Paytm Mall.

Gionee X1

Specifications

The Gionee X1 features a 5-inch Full HD display and is powered by MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 based Amigo 4.0 UI coupled with a 2GB of RAM. The phone offers a 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded with the help of a dedicated microSD slot. The smartphone sports an 8MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera capable of shooting full-HD videos.

On the connectivity front, the Gionee X1 features 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The fingerprint sensor is located at the rear which seems to be more convenient to use rather than have one on the home screen.

With the said price tag, Gionee is all set to compete with Yureka as well as the Xiaomi Redmi models. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 hosts a 5-inch display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 435 SoC processor. The phone offers 3GB of RAM and an internal storage of 32GB, which can be expanded with the help of a dedicated microSD slot. The camera is a 13MP sensor on the back and a 5MP sensor on the front. The phone is backed by a 4,100 mAh battery. There are two other variants of the phone that offer different memory and RAM speed.

YU Yureka Black, on the other hand, also features a 5-inch full HD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 coupled with 4GB of RAM. The internal storage is an in-built 32GB storage can be expanded via microSD slot. The Yureka Black sports a 13MP camera on the rear and 8MP camera on the front, backed by a 3,000mAh battery.
