Google acquired part of HTC’s smartphones operation recently but it seems HTC is not ready to give up just yet. The company has launched another flagship smartphone for the year, HTC U11 Plus alongside HTC U11 Life at an event in the US today. The HTC U11 Plus is the bigger variant of the earlier launched HTC U11. Both the smartphones were subjected to various leaks in past few months.

The HTC U11 houses similar to its predecessors in terms of design. The biggest change in the device is the bigger display and the fingerprint sensor. The display got bigger and is now 6-inches tall and comes with an aspect ratio of 18:9. To fit in the bigger display the fingerprint sensor has been moved to back of the phone from below the display. There is ample space between the camera sensor and the fingerprint sensor so that you do not smudge the camera glass cover accidently.

The HTC U11 Plus houses a glass finish on the back, similar to its mid-range sibling, continuing company’s new Liquid Surface design language.The difference between the two is that the new smartphone is made of glass and not acrylic that adds to that adds to the premium design of the phone. Unlike, other U smartphones, the IP67 dust and water resistance has been upgraded to IP68 that means the smartphone can be submerged under water for 30 minutes up to 1.5 meters.

The most interesting change seen in the design of HTC U11 Plus is the translucent colour option that literally allows the user to see through the Gorilla Glass layer to take a look at the internal components and antenna lines.

Not Much Changes In Specification Of HTC U11 Plus

In terms of specifications, the HTC U11 Plus is not much different from earlier launched U11. However the biggest difference that is in the screen size that has reached a height of 6-inches and comes with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 Soc coupled with 4GB/6GB of RAM. The internal storage of 64GB/128GB that is expandable one so you do not need to worry about running out of space.

In terms of optics, the smartphone houses a 12MP UltraPixel 3 sensor on the rear with an apertures f/1.7 wide. There is also a 16MP camera sensor on the front. These are hands on specifications of the camera and not much has been revealed about it so we will have to wait until we get our hands on the phone for further information.

The smartphones is claimed to house BoomSound speakers that are 30 percent louder than those found on U11. The device gets its juice from a 3,930mAh battery that is a big improvement. The battery supports Quick Charge 3.0 and comes with two power modes which should keep the device running for at least a day.

One of the unique introduced by the company in the Squeeze feature. The HTC U11 Plus boasts thea squeezable body that can summon AI assistants like Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa with a gentle squeeze.

The HTC U11 Plus does not come with a 3.5-mm audio jack but for good news, it comes running on Android Oreo out of the box.
