The HMD Global launched the entry-level smartphone to Nokia’s Android Lineup in India today. The launch event commenced at Rapid Metro Station at Delhi NCR region. The Nokia 2 the turned down version of Nokia 3. The device houses 5-inch LTPS display which 50 per cent more power efficient than displays used in other devices in this price segment. The 4100mAh battery is claimed to provide a battery backup of more than 2 days on a single charge. The device is priced at Rs 7,500 and will be made available from mid-November.

The phone provides stock Android experience without loading it with various bloats and layers. The company said that it aims to come up with 100,000 outlets in India by the end of this year.

The Nokia 2 is the budget segment offering from the Finnish giant and is priced at Rs 7,500. The smartphone will be made available from mid-November. THe Nokia 2 face competition with Xiaomi’s Redmi 4A that features better specifications at a price of Rs 6,000 and is one of the best selling devices from the Chinese OEM.

The smartphone features 5-inch LTPS TFT display that is claimed to be 50 percent more power efficient than the displays used in other devices in this price segment. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The device is powered by Snapdragon 212 coupled with 1GB of RAM. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and Android Oreo update can be expected soon. The device is made up of 6000 series polycarbonate back and aluminum frame body.

In terms of optics, the device sports a 8MP camera sensor on the back and a 5MP front selfie shooter.

The Nokia 2 offers 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded with the help of a microSD card. The device is powered by a 4100mAh battery that is capable of delivering 2-day battery backup on moderate use.
