It seems Nokia has decided to regain its position as top smartphone seller in India, the biggest smartphone market in the world. Nokia, now owned by HMD Global entered the smartphone business with a range of Android phones including Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and the flagship smartphone announced recently the Nokia 8. That said, the company is all set to launch another smartphone in India on October 31 i.e. tomorrow which is speculated to be Nokia 2 or Nokia 7 or Nokia 9. Several leaks and renders of the Nokia 2 are already doing rounds on the internet and now the device has been spotted in AnTuTu benchmark site. The listings suggest some of the key specifications of the speculated smartphone.
Nokia 2 Specifications
The phone appeared on the listings with a model number TA-1035. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 212 SoC, which is an entry-level smartphone processor. Nokia 2 will be a budget smartphone from the Finnish giant and separate rumours claim that it is going to be a low-end version of the Nokia 3 or it may also be a successor of Nokia 3. Rumours have it that the smartphone will cost around Rs 6,000 and will compete with the likes of Xiaomi’s budget segment best-sellers – Redmi 4, and Redmi 4A.
The Nokia 2 may feature a screen-size between 4.7-inch to 5-inch. It will come with 1GB of RAM and offer 8GB of internal storage. It is also tipped to come with 8MP camera sensor on the rear and a 5MP sensor of the front. As per the listings, the battery capacity is expected to be of 4000mAh.
Nokia 2 also appeared on the Bluetooth SIG site that confirmed that the device is most likely to run on Android 7.1 Nougat. As announced by the HMD Global earlier that all Nokia devices will get the Oreo update, the device is also expected to get the Oreo update later. But no one can be sure.
The Finnish giant is all set to launch a new Nokia smartphone tomorrow but has not specified the name of the device yet. The Facebook page of the company says, “The next big milestone for Nokia smartphones is here. Don’t forget to tune in and watch what is in store for you.” It can be either Nokia 7, Nokia 9 or Nokia 2.
Notably, Nokia 7 was recently announced in China, while Nokia 2 and Nokia 9 remain rumoured devices yet. As per the invite text, the company may not launch a bigger smartphone and it can be the much-anticipated Nokia 9. We can only wait for Nokia to confirm the device tomorrow.
