Nokia will be launching another smartphone in India, the biggest smartphone market in the world, today. The launch event will take place in New Delhi and will start at 12:00 noon. The HMD Global-owned Nokia mobiles may launch two smartphones – Nokia 2 and Nokia 7- in the event. Nokia 2 will fit in just below Nokia 3 in company’s Android lineup. The launch is being held in a metro station affirms company’s claims that it will be launching the smartphone for masses. The event will live stream on Nokia’s Facebook page. Several leaks and renders of Nokia 2 are already doing rounds. AnTuTu recently revealed specifications the key specifications of the smartphone.

The Nokia 2 is speculated to come with a 5-inch HD display with 720p resolution. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 212 processor, which is seen in on most entry-level smartphones. The device will offer 1GB of RAM and an internal storage of 8GB that can be expanded with the help of a microSD card. The device will draw its juice from a 4000mAh battery. The Nokia 2 will run on stock Android 7.1.1 without any bloat and overlays and is expected expected to get the Android Oreo update soon.

In terms of optics, the Nokia 2 will come with an 8MP camera sensor on the rear and a 5MP camera sensor on the front. The HMD Global launched the Nokia 3 at a price of 9,499, Nokia 5 at Rs 12,499, Nokia 6 at 14,999 and flagship Nokia 8 at Rs 36,999. The Nokia will fit in as entry level smartphone to Nokia’s Android line-up at is expected to cost around Rs 5,999. The phone will face competition with Xiaomi’s already best-selling budget smartphones Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A.
