OnePlus will be launching its new flagship smartphone, OnePlus 5T today at 9:30 pm IST. The launch event will commence in New York and will be streamed live online, but OnePlus is also showcasing the launch event at select PVR theatres across India. PVR theatres across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad will live-stream the event and tickets for the same can be brought on BookMyShow. OnePlus has already released a teaser poster and a teaser video for the launch of OnePlus 5T. A competition to win tickets to the event was also held earlier. However, similar to other flagship smartphones, many details regarding the smartphone have been leaked, let us take a look at everything we know so far.

OnePlus 5T Price And Availability

There have been few reports regarding pricing of the OnePlus 5T. A report by techdipper claimed that the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant will be priced at Rs 32,999 while the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant will be priced at Rs 37,999 in India. Another report from techradar suggested that the Chinese manufacturer will keep the price of OnePlus 5T same as that of OnePlus 5 in the UK. the 64GB storage variant will be priced at 449 pounds (roughly Rs 38,265) while the 128GB variant will be priced at 499 pounds (roughly Rs 42,526). However, there is no information regarding the same by the company.

A tweet by the company’s CEO Pete Lau read, “Cost of smartphone components is rising, but phones are also getting better. OnePlus users will appreciate what’s coming.” The tweet is taken as a sign that the company may price the OnePlus 5T same as that of OnePlus 5.

The device will be made available in America and Europe from November 21 while in China on December 2. The company will arrange an early access sale in India on 21 November. Customers will be able to buy OnePlus 5T in India from OnePlus online official store and from Amazon. However, the smartphone will officially go on sale in India on November 28.

OnePlus 5T Specifications

The OnePlus 5T will come featuring a 6-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM. The internal storage offered by the device will be 64GB and 128GB. The OnePlus 5T will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box.

It will sport a dual camera setup on the rear featuring 16MP + 20MP camera sensors with one wide-angle and one telephoto lens and a 16MP front selfie shooter. However, there have been reports that the front camera on the new device will face an upgrade and is going to be of 20MP resolution. It is also expected to come face unlock feature.

Other Specifications

The company recently confirmed that the new device will come with an audio jack and also explained the benefits of having an audio jack. Another blog post from the company confirmed that it will not be bringing the wireless charging feature to the phone and will stick to dash charging and said that the company will bring the wireless charging when the time is right.

The back panel of the device will face definite change as the dual camera module seems to have a slight bump and that fingerprint sensor has been replaced from home button to below the rear camera to accommodate the big screen.
