Samsung Galaxy Note 8 To Launch Today: Watch Live Blog Here

The much-awaited eighth iteration of the Galaxy Note phablet series, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be unveiled by the South Korean giant tonight. The company faced strong criticism as the Galaxy Note 7 smartphones exploded in their user’s hand.  However, it has been a year since the incidents and the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco doesn’t seem to hinder the business of other smartphone releases. Sales of latest releases from Samsung, Galaxy S8 and S8+ are 15 percent higher as compared to the Galaxy S7 series, according to reports.

Samsung is holding the launch the Galaxy Unpacked at Park Avenue Armory in New York tonight. The event is scheduled to begin at 11:30AM EST, which is 8:30PM according to the Indian Standard Time. Like all the major events, the Galaxy Unpacked event will be streamed live for Samsung fans from all over the world to catch the action live. The Galaxy Note 8 leaks and speculations have flooded the internet lately. A recent report, released yesterday, claims that the Galaxy Note 8 will be available in three storage variants, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. The three variants will cost RMB 6,288 (approximately Rs 60,000), RMB 7,088 (approximately Rs 68,000) and RMB 7,988 (approximately Rs 77,000).

Specifications

The speculations so far suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will feature a 6.4-inch Infinity display with a resolution of 1080×2220 pixels. The device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC processor along with Adreno 540 GPU or the Exynos 8895 SoC with Mali G71 GPU.

In the photography front, it is expected to sport a dual rear camera setup which is expected to be a pair of 12MP sensors. One of these would be a wide angle lens with an aperture of f/1.7 while the other one would be a telephoto lens with an aperture of f/2.4 along with 2x optical zoom capabilities. It will run on Android 7.1.1 out-of-the-box. The expected battery capacity of the Galaxy Note 8 may be 3,300mAh, which will deliver decent endurance to the device without any unforeseen incidences, as per company claims.
