Sony To Showcase Its First Snapdragon 845 Powered Smartphone During MWC In February; Xperia XZ2 Likely

Sony is rumoured to come up with three bezel-less smartphones in 2018 with a recent one being Sony “Xperia A Edge” which may come with curved edge display similar to Samsung Galaxy S8.

In a recent report from GizmoChina, Sony is confirmed to hold a press conference at the CES 2018. However the company has not confirmed it yet but it is rumoured to announce a Snapdragon 845 powered smartphone in its press conference.

Sony is rumoured to launch next-generation H8116, H8166, H8216, H8266, H8276 and H8296 smartphones next year. The reports claim that smartphones with model number Sony H8216 and Sony H8266 could be two variants of recently reported Sony Xperia XZ2 featuring the Snapdragon 845 SoC.

Both these Xperia XZ2 variants could be 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage variant. The recorded benchmark listing of these phones operating on Snapdragon 845 are 2393 on a single core and 8300 on a multi core test.

The company has been known for using the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 as a platform to introduce various products from its portfolio. Thus, the company is expected to showcase the smartphones alongside TV’s and other products.

Sony was the first smartphone manufacturer to announce first Snapdragon 835 powered smartphone this but it will not be able to do so as Xiaomi has already partnered with Qualcomm and announced its upcoming Mi 7 smartphone.
