Xiaomi is planning to launch a new selfie centric smartphone, speculated to be Mi Note 3 in India on November 2. Manu Kumar Jain, MD, Xiaomi India took it to twitter to tease the new smartphone. The name of the new device has not been revealed yet and it is also not sure if it is a new series altogether. However, the tweet confirms that the upcoming device will be a selfie centric smartphone.

Rumours have it that the device could be Mi Note 3 which was launched in China last month alongside the Mi Mix 2. The Mi Note 3 fulfils the criteria teased in the tweet. It comes with a 16MP selfie camera on the front that uses artificial intelligence to offer best results. The camera’s AI powered real-time processing smoothens the skin and also enhances the facial features to make you look your best.

Another factor that increases the possibility of it being Mi Note 3 is that the Mi Note series, which was launched in China back in 2005, is yet to make its debut in India. Mi Note 3 is a phone that comes in mid-premium smartphone range.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 comes in three variants in China. The base variant of the smartphone comes with 64GB storage and is priced at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs 24,500), the one with 128GB storage is priced at CNY 2,899 (roughly Rs 28,500) and the third one comes with a glossy body and is priced at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs 29,400).

The Mi Note 3 Features a 5.5-inch Full HD with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor coupled with 6GB of RAM.

In terms of optics, the Mi Note 3 comes with a dual camera setup on the rear that comprises a combination of 12MP wide-angle lens and 12MP telephoto lens. The camera comes with 2x optical zoom support and 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)

The device comes with under-glass fingerprint scanner and facial recognition support. The device gets its juice from a 3,500mAh battery that comes with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IR BLaster, USB Type-C port and NFC. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat atop MIUI9.
