Last year the Chinese smartphone giant, Xiaomi released Redmi 4A and approximately more than 2.5 lakh phones were sold on the first day of sale. This year Xiaomi is releasing another flagship phone, calling it the Redmi 5A. According to speculations, Redmi 5A will be released ahead of the Redmi Note 5. The smartphone will launch alongside Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus.

Few weeks backs the Redmi 5A was seen on the TENNA website. However, we do not have any official news from Xiaomi about its release date. Today, there was another poster claiming to be the upcoming Redmi 5A was leaked on the internet that revealed a MIUI9 in the smartphone. No major changes could be seen in the design when compared to the Redmi 4A.

The poster also gave us a clear idea of the possible specifications of the smartphone. Similar to the Redmi 4A, the Redmi 5A will come with a 5-inch HD display and a resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, but the exact chip is not yet known. According to the post from TENNA, it should feature a 1.4GhZ Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset. The most attractive feature of the Redmi 5A is its 8 days of battery backup. A Chinese tagline in the poster says, ”Lightweight and Longer Battery life”. We can expect the Redmi 5A to feature a 3000mAh battery, as hinted by TENNA.

The major difference in the Redmi 5A when compared to its predecessor is its metallic body, unlike the Redmi 4A that was packed in a plastic body. Moving to the rear, there is an addition of a speaker grill at the bottom and two antenna lines at the top. It is expected to house a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP Selfie-shooter at the front. We have earlier reported that three entry-level Redmi smartphones: Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus will be announced later this month.

The Xiaomi 5A will be available in vibrant colors like Black, White, Red, Rose Gold, Blue, Grey, and Silver.It is expected to be available in two different variants: 3GB RAM/16GB internal storage and 3GB RAM/32GB storage.

Last year Xiaomi released the Redmi 4A by the mid of November in China and we can expect the Redmi 5A to be released at the same time.
