Now potential Xiaomi Redmi phone buyers would not have to wait for the impending (or rather annoying) flash sale which needed them to be quick and if lucky, they could buy a Redmi phone. Now, these phones are available through pre-order on the official Mi.com website which will be delivered within five working days anywhere in India. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is the entry-level phone which is priced at Rs 5,999. It is available in one version, a 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory with a minimum battery size of 3,030mAh. The battery life is claimed to offer a standby time of up to a week, which is impressive considering its price tag. The Dual-SIM Redmi 4A runs a Snapdragon 425 qualcomm processor and has a 13MP rear camera.

The camera has a 5-element lens with f/2.2 aperture, single LED flash, Low Light Enhancement, HDR, Panorama, Burst mode, face recognition and real-time filters. The front camera is a 5MP one with a f/2.2 large aperture, selfie countdown and face recognition. Video recording can be done in 1080p and 720p with 30fps (frames per second). When the phone which has a hybrid SIM card tray, has two SIM cards, the primary one can be used for 4G while the other SIM card would support only 2G. In a hybrid tray, you can either have two SIM cards or a SIM card and an expandable memory.

The mid-level offering, the Redmi 4 which has a starting price of Rs 6,999 is available in three variants, 2GB RAM/16GB internal memory, 3GB RAM/32GB internal memory and 4GB RAM/64GB internal memory. All the variants of the Xiaomi Redmi 4 run on a Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor with a maximum clocking speed of 1.4GHz. In addition, all models have an expandable memory of up to 128GB. However, in case you plan to use two SIM cards and store a lot of apps for your daily use, it is best to go for the top-end 4GB/64GB trim as the Redmi 4 is available only with a hybrid tray.

The rear camera is a 13MP unit with a f/2.0 aperture and other features of offered in the Redmi 4A. The front camera is also a 5MP unit with f/2.2 aperture similar to to the Redmi 4A, however, the Redmi 4 also has a Beautify feature with 36 beauty profiles with real-time beauty. In fact, the Redmi 4’s front facing camera also has a feature to tell your age based on your facial features. Not that you would want that to let anyone know that, the phone doesn’t capture that number in the selfie.

The top-of-the-line, Redmi Note 4 which starts from Rs 9,999 is also available in three variants, 2GB/16GB, 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. All variants that are available in the Redmi Note 4 have an expandable memory of up to 128GB. However, like other Redmi phones is a hybrid tray which means if you use a number of apps and two SIM cards, it is best to go for the top-spec 4GB/64GB model. The differentiating factors or better features of the Redmi Note 4 are the 1080p front camera video recording, Smart and Pro Beautify features, compared to the Redmi 4. Other incentives avaiable on the pre-order are 30GB Reliance Jio data pack and five percent payback on Axis Bank Buzz Credit Cards.

With the pre-order of these absolute value-for-money smartphones, potential customers no longer need to have ‘trigger’ fingers to get one. The popularity of the Xiaomi happened due to the extremely well-packaged product at aggressive pricing. These also aided in the brand, Mi.com, garner good popularity amongst buyers looking at an affordable but well-performing smartphone.
