When Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 845 processor in December at the Snapdragon Tech Summit event, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun made the company’s intention clear that it will be releasing its flagship device Mi 7 powered by the 845 chipset. Now, it has been confirmed that Xiaomi is going to attend the 2018 Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona, Spain as one of the exhibitors. Furthermore, Lei Jun previously announced that during the Chinese spring season, i.e. by the end of February or the early of March, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer will be unravelling Mi 7. Although no official information is available on this, still from all the above facts, it is certain that the Xiaomi Mi 7 will be getting rolled out at MWC 2018.
Interestingly, Samsung is also expected to unveil Snapdragon 845 processor with Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ handsets at the MWC 2018 event. Simultaneously, Sony will also be unravelling the Xperia XZ Pro smartphone with the Snapdragon 845 chipset at this MWC event. If this buzz turns out to be true, Mi 7 will be the first Chinese manufacturer to debut the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC supported device.
Furthermore, it is also rumoured that Xiaomi Mi 7 dual camera setup will be getting Artificial Intelligence optimized as Lei Jun has recently confirmed the focus of the company in 2018 will be towards unveiling AL optimized smartphones. Xiaomi Mi 7 will be also the first phone in the company’s lineup with wireless charging feature and the company might also launch a larger Mi 7 Plus handset with the Mi 7 smartphone. Only time will tell how far these speculations turn out to be true. As of now, users may wait for MWC 2018 event.
