As reported from Tech Crunch, the company released this feature in Google Maps two weeks ago by notifying via email. They are planning to introduce it soon publicly as well. The user who is part of this program can shoot a 10 seconds video by the application itself and can load up to a 30 seconds video through the camera.

Before this, the user could only attach the images of the location or a place. In order to enhance the review quality and to provide users with proper visualization, Google is launching this amazing feature soon. Apart from users, local businesses can also take advantage of this new add-on feature in Google Maps by making videos of their own place. The user can still write reviews to express their experiences of any visited place.

How is this going to work though?

To record or upload reviews to Google Maps, the user just needs to search the place, scroll down and then tap “add a photo,” then tap the “Camera” icon and then hold the shutter to record and upload a short a video. For now, the company plans to introduce this feature only for Android and will introduce it later for other platforms as well.

It seems like a small add-on done by Google in their local guides program but this can be highly beneficial for local business operators. For them, Google has given them a new platform to flaunt their businesses in a much better manner. Seeing this in a professional way, local business operators will have a global platform to upload professional and attractive videos of their place to woo customers.

This tiny new add on feature will surely provide better and real information about the location. Let’s see how the user is going to utilize this video feature in Google Maps, professionally or just for giving reviews.
