  • 1.5GB data plan to offer 2GB data to the users now
  • The changes will come into effect from January, 26, 2018

Jio has rolled out its Republic Day offers to counter Airtel recharge offers. Now, the Jio users will receive 50% more data on any of the plan which is of Rs. 149 or above and this offer gets activated from January 26, 2018 at 12am. The important thing that users need to remember is that to avail this offer, they must buy a new recharge pack on or after the Republic Day. If the consumers wait for the current plan validity to expire might not be able to enjoy this extra benefit from Jio. This means in order to receive 50% offer from Jio, users need to cancel their active plan and activate this new plan.

Coming to the new plans, it is interesting to know that all the Reliance Jio 1GB data per day plan users such as Rs. 149 (28 days validity), Rs. 349 (70 days validity), Rs. 399 (84 days validity) and Rs. 449 (91 days validity), will get 1.5GB per day daily high-speed data. Also, the plans like Rs. 198, Rs. 398, Rs. 448 and Rs. 498 will be offering now 2GB data per day to the users. Nothing much is known till when the Republic Day offer will continue, but it is clear that the Rs. 299 plan is as of now redundant for subscribers, as the benefits pertaining to this remains same, i.e. 2GB per day data for 28 days at Rs. 198.

Strikingly, Jio has also announced the changes in the Rs. 98 recharge plan and now users may enjoy twice the current validity in this plan (28 days up from 14 days). Nonetheless, no changes have been introduced in the 4G data allocation with this plan and it remains the same 2GB with 150MB of high speed 4G data per day. It is not the first time that Jio has come up with revisions in the plans. Earlier, this month the company had unveiled Happy New Year 2018 offer and introduced its 1.5GB daily data plans. Let’s see how these offers are received by the users. As of now, the tug of war continues between Airtel and Reliance Jio.
