Lenovo-owned Motorola unveiled its two new devices, Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus on Tuesday. Both are set to be an upgraded version of their predecessors Moto G5 and G5 Plus with an improved camera, bigger display and better design.

The Moto G5S is improved version of its predecessor Moto G5. It has an all metal unibody as opposed to plastic body with a black back panel and a water repellent nano-coating. Moto G5S comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD display as compared to 5-inch display on The Moto G5. It has a bigger 3000mAh battery compared to 2800mAh on G5. The TurboPower charging feature has also been improved which now provides 5 hours of phone usage with just 15-minutes of charging.

Camera has also seen improvements with Moto G5S boasting a 16MP sensor on the rear compared to Moto G’s 13MP sensor. The 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 430 processor remains the same and runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. The front 5MP camera sensor remains the same but it has now been coupled with a wide-angle lens and an LED flash. The big improvement in Moto G5S is gesture recognition support on the fingerprint scanner, a feature currently supported by Google Pixel.

Coming to Moto G5S Plus, it also an all-metal unibody with water resistant nano-coating, similar to Moto G5S. The device is powered by Snapdragon 625 processor, same processor that powers Moto G5 Plus and runs Android 7.1 out of the box. The main attraction and the biggest difference in the new device is a 13MP dual rear camera sensor with f2.0 aperture and dual LED flash compared to single 12MP camera on Moto G5 Plus. The front camera is 8MP sensor with a wide-angle lens and an LED flash. The screen size has now increased from 5.2-inch to 5.5-inch. The phone offers 3GB of RAM for 32GB variant compared to 2GB RAM on Moto G5 Plus. The battery of 3000mAh remains the same. The TurboPower charging feature now provides 6 hours of usage with just 15-minutes of charging. The fingerprint scanner of Moto G5S Plus also supports gesture recognition.

The Moto G5S houses dual-SIM slot while Moto G5S Plus comes only with single-SIM configuration.

The Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus will be made available for sale in various countries with a starting price of EUR 249 (approx Rs 18,900) and EUR 299 (approx Rs 22,700) respectively. However, there is no information when Moto G5S and Moto G5s will be released in India.
