The Xiaomi launched its first Android One smartphone earlier this year and it is one of the best budget smartphones since then. Being an Android One smartphone it runs on stock Android with no modifications. The company promised that it will roll out the Oreo update for the phone by the end of this year. While the stable ROM is still not ready, some owners have been invited to test the private beta Android 8.0 Oreo ROM for Mi A1.

Mi A1

Am Indian news website Telecomtalk tested the private beta ROM and it reported several improvements that the update brings in the already impressive smartphone. What is interesting is that Oreo adds quick charging support to the Mi A1. However, we are not sure that the charger included with Mi A1 supports quick charging or users will have to buy a new charger to take advantage of the same.

The standard tweaks including redesigned Settings app, Picture-in-Picture, adaptive icons and the Autofill API while other improvements include much quicker app loading and smoother animations.

While the year has almost come to an end, the stable ROM has not rolled out yet. The company is still stuck to rolling out the update by the end of this year which means we can it in next couple of days.
