Xiaomi has finally confirmed that it will be bringing out MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM 7.12.28. The update will bring iPhone X like swipe gestures to Xiaomi phones. These gestures are better compatible with bezel-less or near bezel-less smartphone, and thus, it will initially be introduced in Mi Mix 2, Mi Mix, Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus.

The gestures, as mentioned similar to that in the iPhone X. Users can swipe upwards from the bottom to go to the home screen of their device. Swiping up from the bottom of the screen and holding will give access to all the apps open in the background.

For navigating to the previous and next page, users can just swipe the left to right or left to the middle of the screen. There the other changes too apart from these gestures, the update comes with some bug fixes including dual apps for WhatsApp, top sites setting being restored automatically in Mi Browser and much more.

Subsequently, the company has also announced Mi Service Order Status for allowing users to track their device repair status. The company also started sale the of the Redmi 5A 3GB/32GB memory variant via offline retail stores from yesterday but with a slightly increased price.
