Gionee is all set to launch its new Gionee M7 phone soon. The image teased by the company today clearly says that the phone will come with a bezel- less display which would make Gionee the newest OEM to enter the trending bezel-less display segment of smartphones.
GsmArena spotted the image posted on Weibo and shared the report. The image shared shows the soon to be launched M7 with extremely thin or no bezels at either side of the screen. The image also includes two cycle wheels overlapping each other which suggests the presence of a dual-camera setup. However, this has not yet been officially confirmed by the makers and could just be an evidence of its collaboration with the Beijing based bike-sharing start-up company Ofo, for the smartphone’s launch.
Earlier, a Gionee smartphone carrying the model number SW17W08 was listed on the GFXBench benchmark database. The handset featured a full-screen display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. According to the listing, the device features a large 6-inch full-screen display like the other Android flagship smartphones launched earlier this year.
According to the speculations and rumors that have surfaced, the phone is believed to sport a 6-inch display (2160 x 1080 pixels) and is to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6757CD processor and is to have a 4GB RAM with 64GB storage capacity.
Gionee M7 would run on Android 7.0 Nougat and is said to feature a 5MP rear and front camera. This is a little disappointing and could be a huge factor in the phone’s popularity for a good camera is the need of the hour today. One needs good pictures taken of themselves and of wherever they go. But all we are doing is speculate at this point as no official statement has been made by the makers about the specifications of the device. So whatever is in store for us, we will have to wait for the reveal. Till then, let’s focus on what we know from the teaser image.
