There is just one week to go for the official release of Xiaomi’s next flagship phone, the Mi Mix 2.The smartphone is all set to launch during an event to be held on 11th September in Beijing, confirmed Xiaomi.
Going by the previous leaks, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 was said to be integrated with a Snapdragon 835 processor. However, a recent source suggests that the device will come with a Snapdragon 836 processor instead.
According to a post published in Weibo, a Chinese social media platform, the upcoming smartphone from Xiaomi will have a higher version of the Snapdragon 835 chipset named as the “Snapdragon 836”. The Snapdragon 836 will give faster performance than the 835 chipsets which is found in recently launched smartphones like OnePlus 5, Samsung galaxy note 8 and much more. However, the Snapdragon 836 chipset is still not officially released yet.
Apart from the processor, the Mi Mix 2 is predicted to run on the latest Android Oreo 8.0 platform.Talking about the specifications, the device will have a 6.2″ display, a resolution of 1440 X 2960, 20MP rear cam, 4400mAh battery, 256 GB of internal memory and 4GB/6GB RAM.

Looking at the leaked images, it seems that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will feature a bezel-less design with a high screen to body ratio similar to its predecessor (almost 93%).
Earlier today, Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun revealed the retail box of the smartphone along with some promotional campaign images on Weibo. He revealed a slim and square shaped black box with “MIX” written on the top lid. However, the closed box kept the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 hidden inside it. Other than that, the campaign images show a man taking pictures without a phone. This could be a hint for a bezel-less display.
The first hint about the design of the Mi Mix 2 was from a conceptual video posted by renowned designer, Philippe Starck on his official Facebook page. The video predicted a smartphone with slimmer bezels than its previous version.
Another source indicated that the smartphone could feature a fingerprint sensor as well just below the screen as seen in most of the new gen smartphones.
So with all this information, we all are eagerly waiting for the official launch of the Mix Mix 2 on 11th September. For those who are not aware, this is just one day ahead of Apple’s next iPhone launch event on 12th September.
