Today the Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite, two latest smartphones from Xiaomi went on their first sale on Amazon and Mi’s official website starting at 12 pm.

Just like what we had predicted, both the smartphones received tremendous love from the users.According to a tweet from Redmi India, more than 150,000 units were sold just in three minutes after the sale went live. The post says, “You made the right choice! Thank you for believing in our brand new series of smartphones #LoveYourselfie”

Xiaomi revealed both the smartphones during an event last week in Delhi and surprisingly India is one of the very first countries to receive the smartphones.

The previous Xiaomi devices also received a similar response last year and went out of stock within few minutes of the sale.

Redmi Y1

Let us recall the specifications of both the smartphones.The Redmi Y1 features a 5-inch HD with a resolution of 720p. It is powered by a Snapdragon Octa-core processor. The basic model will come with a 3GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage.The higher model will feature a 4GB RAM with 64GB of Internal Storage.

 

Redmi Y1

Talking about the camera, the Redmi Y1 comes with a 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash and a 16MP Selfie shooter with LED flash as well as Beautify 3.0. The smartphone houses a 3080mAh battery. The basic 3GB Model is priced at Rs 8,999 and the 4GB model is priced at Rs 10,999.

On the other hand, the Redmi Y1 Lite is an entry-level phone and is priced at Rs 6,999. The phone features a 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It comes with a 13MP primary camera with LED flash and a 5MP Selfie camera. The Y1 lite also houses a 3080mAh battery and it’s a lightweight smartphone weighing about 150g.

Initially the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite will come with MIUI8 certification and will get an update later to MIUI9.
